Dons number one Kelle Roos was the player who spoke to the media this week to preview the Scottish Cup tie against Clyde on Friday night:
“The break was definitely needed for different reasons. Some players needed it mentally, whilst others physically needed a rest. For me, I don’t tend to take many breaks, so even when I am off, I will continue to work, but it was nice to have a mental break and spend time with family.
“We will find out if it has helped the team. We need to start getting results.
“My thoughts ahead of the game on Friday are very simple.
“We need to be at the races. We know how these games can become our worst nightmare if you don’t do things properly. The most important thing I believe with these types of games is to focus on ourselves, hit our own levels and if everyone individually performs to their standard and we then do that as a team, then the result should take care of itself. If we don’t, it could be a very long evening.
“Footballers know that feeling. It is a very bad feeling. Darvel was a horrible night. I played in England before coming here, and every year there are shock results in the FA Cup. You know that if you don’t do things right then you will get beaten. I am sure the players who were here last season remember the feeling and want to make sure that it never happens again.
“Clyde will have nothing to lose. They will be fearless. We have to be on top of our game. We have to concentrate fully from the start and make sure we get the job done.”
