Jonny was the player who spoke to the media ahead of the cinch premiership game against St Mirren on Saturday.

“The run of results haven’t been good enough for a long time now. We know we are in a bit of a sticky spot but we need to look forward and be positive.

“The league table is still tight.

“I know our form doesn’t fill Aberdeen fans with a lot of great hope at the minute but you’ve try and turn that around. We’ve got to find a way amongst ourselves with the coaching staff and players and one.

“We need to go and win games. There’s been no lack of effort from the players or the staff but it’s just not been enough for one reason or another so we need to start putting that right from tomorrow onwards.

“I watched the St Johnstone game back. I would not say we lost the physical battle. We actually created the better chances during the game. If you take your chances, you win games. I am not sure if it is down to a lack of confidence, or being off the boil, but we did not take our chances.

“Fortunately, when you are not scoring goals and you giving away soft goals, it is a combination that does not work out well for the football club. So we have to defend better as a team, as a team we need to be better from the front to the back and we need to start taking our chances as well. We need to be better at both ends of the pitch.

“This stage of the season is about winning games, yes you’d like to win by playing entertaining football but three points is the most important thing at this stage so we have to win the game by hook or by crook.

“It is about doing the basics right. Defending well. Finding your teammate with a pass. Making a run to open us space. And scoring goals. That is the fundamentals and we have not been good enough over the last couple of weeks, couple of months at them. It has not been good enough.

“We are going to have to rely on the togetherness of the squad to get us out of this. This club has always been brilliant at settling in players. There has never been a bad changing room since I have been here. It has always been a good place to come and work. We need to stick together. That dressing room needs to win football games.”
