Jonny Hayes
“I think right from the off we wanted to win the game, we attacked. I thought we were dominant from numbers 1-11.
“In every position every player got the better of their marker. I think 2-0 probably flattered Hearts a little bit, we probably could have pushed on. We were very dominant.
“Any victory over a good Hearts side is welcomed, we have had a lot of hard games against them in the past. We take the three points and we move on.
“We can't really affect other teams, we let them get on with their game and we worry about our own.
“I think so far it's going alright for us. We can look forward to the international break and then Dundee.
“It's another three points towards where we want to be at the end of the season.”
Jonny was asked to give his account of his goal…
“Some goal wasn’t it! A run from 35 yards!
“I think I picked the ball up from Joe Lewis, dribbled past three or four men then put it in the top corner! “The manager has us set up in a way where if one player goes out to try and win the ball back we all go together. Kenny (McLean) went and won the ball back and it was only because we tried to get the ball back I went with him.
“I got a lucky break in the end but we got the reward for the way we pressed the ball. We were on the front foot all day.
“Shay has scored a few goals for us over the years. We see that every day in training, him making those runs into the box. Niall has played a great ball and put it on his forehead.”
On Kenny McLean's recent form…
“Kenny had another very good game. It is a good combination with Graeme, Ryan and Kenny in there. They set the tone.
“I'm trying to dig him up an Irish passport so he can play for us!
“I think in my opinion he's been the best player in country for the last couple months, dominating every game for us and setting the tone for us. He's one of the fittest guys I've ever seen in my life.
“All he can do is keep doing what he's doing and he'll get the rewards eventually.
“Obviously he's got some good players ahead of him in the Scotland side, so if he keeps doing what he's doing he'll get his rewards.”
On the international break…
“It gives us a chance to recharge the batteries a bit, like January where we get a break and we can ease off training for a few days and then get ready and look forward to the next game.
“I will probably find out tomorrow if I have made the final Ireland squad. I have enjoyed being involved in the past and if I am called up again we will take it from there. It would be bonus but any call up would be because I have been playing well in a good Aberdeen side.”
