With the Dons unbeaten in eight, Jimmy Thelin pointed to the way the players have stepped up and taken on responsibility as the key to this good run.
“I’m happy that the mental focus is so strong now and the focus on the right things. We have been strong in the away games, so it’s a more mature way of behaviour right now inside the squad and we just have to keep doing that the whole way. We have shown now in so many away games that we can stay calm.
“I have to say the squad is really sharing responsibility. We have this tight schedule, we have to change some players. We don’t want to change too much, don’t want to lose the rhythm, but the players who start or come on, they always bring the quality and make some impact in the game. I’m really happy how they can contribute from the bench also.
“The most important thing for us is that we take the steps in the right direction and get a little bit better every week. We have also a lot of players who haven’t played so much, but they’re also growing in training. It’s a long season, so that is important for us.”
Jimmy also spoke again about the resilience the team has found since the defeat in Athens.
“This resilience inside the team now means that we can be stable, don’t get stressed and trust in our transitions when the moment is there. I’m really happy how we can manage that. Still, we have things to improve, but it’s really good.
“It’s always going to be tight games in this league. But we have to focus on what we have to do and trust ourselves. We have had some really tough away games and we have won them, it’s not easy, it’s not always the perfect game, but keeping this team spirit and calmness on the pitch is so, so important in these moments.
“We were really, really strong in the first half. Then Dundee come out strong in the second half, create some momentum around throw-ins, free-kicks, corners around the box and we couldn’t really get out.
“But after they scored, we got the momentum again. We saw the subs come on again and make a difference on the pitch. The team is growing. It’s a long, long season and it’s so important to grow and evolve all the time. We’re going in the right direction.
“All the players are doing this. We saw it with Adil. He has grown a lot. He’s changed his position. Now he’s coming from deeper. He has really good timing in this game and he can help with the build-up, but still have the capacity to run a lot and arrive into the box. He showed last game that he has this timing and today he scored a goal. I’m really pleased for him.
“Then it was a good goal from Kevin. It was really good to find his calmness and composure in this moment. He found the right angles. It was a really beautiful goal.
“Now we have scored six goals in the last two games and still been stable. We just have to keep building and be humble and try to improve all the time.”
