The November international break saw a smaller pool of Dons called up to represent their country but the importance of the action was as high as ever with the curtain coming down on multiple campaigns that included a happy ending for Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad in Warsaw.

Nicky Devlin – Scotland

Nicky was able to build on his cap picked up against Portugal during the last international break by grabbing a memorable second appearance for his country in the final game of their UEFA Nations League Campaign against Poland. An unused substitute during the victory against Croatia at Hampden, the Dons defender was introduced in the 76th minute at the Stadion Narodowy on Monday night. Andy Robertson’s 93rd minute winner ensured it was a special night for Devlin and his team-mates as they ended their campaign on a positive note. The late goal meant the Tartan Army leapfrogged Poland into third – Scotland will now go into a play-off in March to try and keep their League A status intact.

Alfie Bavidge – Scotland U19s

Scotland U19s failed to reach the elite round of UEFA Euro Under-19 qualifying following a win, a draw and a loss on home turf. Alfie was introduced off the bench during the opening defeat at the hands of Wales at Forthbank, but Scotland and the on-loan Ayr United man bounced back in style with an impressive 4-0 victory over Liechtenstein at Cappielow, Bavidge grabbing two of the goals. Their round of fixtures was rounded out with a 0-0 draw against France at the Falkirk Stadium, Alfie playing just short of an hour.

Dimitar Mitov- Bulgaria

Games against Luxembourg and Belarus rounded off Dimitar Mitov’s Bulgaria side’s Nations League Campaign, his country finishing second in the four-team group following a win in Luxembourg and a draw at home to the White Wings. Dimi now has nine caps for his country, they will now compete in a two-legged playoff in March against a third-placed team from the league above to try and earn promotion in the Nations League.

Topi Keskinen – Finland U21s

It was a successful break for the four-time senior capped Topi Keskinen and the Finland U21s who qualified for the UEFA European Under-21 Championships with an emphatic victory over two legs against Norway. Topi played 75 minutes in the first leg with his side winning 5-1. Topi’s side were beaten in the second leg 2-1 after squandering a late lead, but it meant little in the grand scheme of things for The Eagle Owls who sealed their place in the Finals with a 6-3 win on aggregate. The Championships will take place in Slovakia in June.
