Barry Robson was forthright in his summing up of the performance after the Dons were beaten 3-0 at Pittodrie by St Mirren today.
“I can only apologise to the fans because that isn’t good enough, it’s not acceptable.
“I didn’t see that coming and I’m really angry with the performance, because we weren’t good enough all over the pitch. I’ve told the players that. They need to take responsibility for that as well as me and the staff.
“We’re a lot better than that, but you can’t serve up that kind of performance, I’m not having that. We didn’t pick up any second balls, we weren’t good enough in both boxes, they looked a yard short all over the pitch, and if that happens, you get punished.
“Not every game is going to be perfect, so when it’s tough, you’ve got to win all your duels, you’ve got to do your basics right and we never did that today. We changed the shape in the second half but today isn’t about tactics or formations. We weren’t good enough all over the pitch and if you perform like that, you’ll get beaten.
“It’s as angry as I’ve been since being in the job and I’ve made the players well aware of that. They need to react to that and make sure they perform in the next game. We need to win games, whatever way we do that, we need to win games, starting on Tuesday. They should come flying out in the next game, that’s what I would expect.”
