After the Dons were beaten by two late Rangers goals at Pittodrie, Hayden Coulson gave the view on the game from inside the Dons’ dressing room.

“Everyone was very down in the dressing room afterwards and it’s too early to be analysing things tonight. It’s just a really sore one because I think we did well in the game but we couldn’t get it over the line.

“It was a crazy game in the end, but straight after the final whistle isn’t the time to work out what went wrong and what went right, we’ll do that in the next day or so.”

Having gone behind early on, Aberdeen turned the game on its head with some impressive football, and goals, either side of the interval.

“Duk called it before he hit the free-kick, it was exactly what he was looking to do, so all credit to him. We took the momentum from that, we went and got in front with Leighton’s goal early in the second half, and then we kept them quiet for long spells, but we needed to finish the game off better.

“I thought seven minutes of added time was quite a bit, but that’s the referee’s job, not mine. We didn’t deserve to lose the game but equally, we have to manage the last few minutes better than that and at least come away with something to show for what we put into it.”
