After making his Aberdeen debut in the win over Hibernian, new Dons defender Elvis Bwomono caught up with RedTV to reflect on his start to life in the North-east.

“It’s been very good. It’s been a seamless move, everyone from behind the scenes helping me settle in, moving into an apartment, and the boys in the changing room have really, really taken to me well.
“In Scandinavia the season ends in October. So, I was contracted till January and then had a few offers on the table. I was basically just staying fit, ready for an opportunity to come up. And I know Stephen Robinson really well, so when the opportunity came up for me to sign for Aberdeen, I was ready to take it.
“Stephen phoned me. I’ve got a good relationship with him, so even in my time off I was talking to him anyway.
“The Hibs game was nice. Stadium was packed, the fans came out in numbers, backed the boys, and ultimately, we won. All round it was a nice feeling.
“I’ve played at Pittodrie a few times for St Mirren, but to be on the home end and have the fans on your side and share that moment at the end, clapping and thanking them, was nice.
“I’ve come later but I understand the situation the club’s in. The boys are fighting for their lives, and it was very relieving to get the win, and hopefully that puts us in good stead for the next five games.
“We need to stay together, continue running, continue working hard, and every day try and be better. Help your teammates in tough situations and ultimately just stay together and push through.
“Any minutes I can get to help the team would be fantastic. But ultimately just training every day and pushing for a starting place is my biggest goal."
