The project is being made possible by contributions from The Pitching In Fund, supported by the UK Government; the Scottish FA, through its Member Support programme; the Scottish Football Partnership Trust; and Intelligent Play technology.
Alongside this, the Cormack Family Foundation will be making a significant contribution to the funding required to allow the project to go ahead.
Together, this funding represents an investment of around £1.2 million in a new community pitch at Cormack Park.
The new pitch will allow AFCCT to increase the number of community football programmes delivered, with a particular focus on increasing participation amongst underrepresented groups. It will also provide additional access for local grassroots clubs and support Aberdeen FC’s growing girls’ and women’s football programme.
Work on the new community pitch will begin this week, with completion expected in spring 2027. AFCCT will keep supporters, stakeholders and the local community updated as the project takes shape.
