Derek McInnes spoke to the media after the game and the manager was happy with the result against what he feels is a good team.
“I believe we can get through to the next round but the game is still very much in the balance.
“You are never totally satisfied if you don't win the game but I felt it was a decent performance from us. I felt we were comfortable in the game
“I always felt the game would be over the two legs and we would have to be good over two games so we have work to do but we are still confident.
“We know we will have to put in a strong performance in the second leg.
“They are a good side. I thought they were a good side before tonight's game and I still think they are a good side.
“I thought it was an even game. I thought we had good chances to score. Their goalkeeper made a good save near the end. I thought we were comfortable without producing a top performance.
“I thought the Shkendija supporters were excellent and you can see it is a team that play with good passion.
“There is still work to do. We aim to improve next week.”
The manager confirmed that Mark Reynolds has a shoulder injury which is potentially quite serious but it is too early to tell how long the central defender will be out for.
