Aberdeen Women head to East Kilbride on Sunday to play Motherwell in their final regular season game of 2025/26.

With The Don’s place in the relegation play-off confirmed, Sunday’s focus will be on delivering another positive performance off the back of a 4-0 win over Hamilton last time out.

The K-Park based side have been in excellent form in the post-split and have won all five games since the league separated, most recently beating Montrose 2-1 at Links Park.

We last faced off with the ‘Well back in March, falling to a 3-4 defeat at home, the win sparking their upturn in form after going on an eight game losing run prior.

Dons defender Emma Ilijoski previewed the trip to Lanarkshire.

“I think we went into the game on Sunday with one intention, and that was to have a really good performance and get the three points, even though we’re already in the play-off.

“It was important for us to be able to build that confidence going into what will be a big game at the end of the month.

“I think everyone walked off the pitch feeling satisfied, but also there’s a little bit of frustration because we know that is what we’re capable of, and we haven’t shown it anywhere near enough.”

Ilijoski was quick to pay tribute to the second half substitutes who ended up all playing a big part in proceedings, with Hannah Stewart and Bridget Galloway both netting off the bench.

“That’s what you want in a team, to have game changers coming on. And I think being 1-0 up at half-time, we weren’t satisfied with that and really wanted to make sure that we walked off the pitch having scored goals and got the reward for our performance.

“I think they came on and did a really good job. We want everyone to be pushing to be starting. It’s going to make us a better team. And the next few games, we really have to come together. In the play-off, the team on the day who’s the most positive and wants to win the game will be the team that does.

“The clean sheets massive. As a defender, that’s what you want in these games. Most of the goals come from building out from the back. And I thought we really worked hard for each other to get on the ball and be patient and execute our game plan and execute what we worked on in training, which is the most important thing.

“Momentum is going to be massive for us, definitely.

“I think going into training now with that mindset and staying together as a team is going to be what’s most important.

“I think we have every reason to be confident going into the next few games and showing what we can do for ourselves, but most importantly as a team and for the club. We need to make sure that the Club stays in the top league, which is where it belongs.”
