Dublin Training Camp | Preview

The Dons squad left Pittodrie this morning, heading to Aberdeen airport. They flew out to Ireland at lunchtime and will arrive at their training camp in Dublin later this afternoon.

Before he got on the AFC Coach, the manager spoke to the media:

“The last day of last season was a major disappointment and the outcome of that was the fact we had to come back that bit earlier. Now we are back though we are bursting to get going again and the players have the same energy and enthusiasm as they did last season.

“There is a lot to look forward to.

“We have made some good signings. We already have a lot of good players in the building.

“The fixtures for the SPFL come out on Wednesday and then the European draw is next Monday. We go to Dublin today and there is work to be done to make sure we are ready for that European game.

“I was pleased with the shape of the boys when they came back.

“There is not too much more work in terms of recruitment. We would like to possibly bring in one or two ahead of the season starting but I think we are in a good place the way things stand.

“There has been a lot of speculation about this player and that one. I will not speak about any specific one but we have spoken to a few players regarding different positions and things are ongoing. As soon as something is agreed we will let everyone know in the usual way”
