The Dons will take on FC Twente this summer in a pre-season friendly in The Netherlands, as part of the Club’s preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
The match will form a key fixture within its warm weather training camp, providing Stephen Robinson’s squad with valuable competitive minutes against high-quality European opposition ahead of the new campaign.
FC Twente, who play in the Dutch Eredivisie, will provide a strong test for the Dons and bring their week-long training camp to a close. The match will also give supporters an early look at the squad before competitive action resumes in the Premier Sports Cup in July.
Back on home soil, the first team will take on Cove Rangers at Balmoral Stadium prior to travelling to The Netherlands, with plans in place for further closed door matches upon their return to Aberdeen.
Dons boss Stephen Robinson said: “Pre-season is a crucial time for us to build both physically and tactically, and it will be important as we integrate new faces into the squad. The opportunity to take the team away to work together intensively and face strong opponents like FC Twente is extremely valuable for the group.
“It will be a good test and alongside a comprehensive schedule of pre-season matches, will act as an important step in our preparations for the season ahead.”
Meanwhile, an Aberdeen XI will also face Highland League opposition this summer, taking on Fraserburgh and Inverurie Locos in testimonial fixtures, with trips to Turriff and Keith to round of their preparations.
Ticket details for all pre-season matches will be announced in due course. Please note that only a small number of tickets will be available for the match against FC Twente and we would encourage supporters to hold off on confirming travel arrangements until further details are issued.
Fixtures for the new SPFL Premiership season will be announced on Thursday 18th June.
