MATCH REPORT by MARK GORDON
Aberdeen were forced to make some changes to the squad that lost to Partick Thistle last week. Millie Urquhart was suspended after her red card at Thistle whilst Madison Finnie was on Scotland under-17 duty and injury ruled out Francesca Ogilvie.
The visitors started the brighter of the two teams as they forced an early free-kick which the Dons defence dealt with well.
There was plenty of endeavour from both sides but not much in the way of chances. Bailley Collins’ 20-yard effort halfway through the first half was the games first goal attempt. Motherwell keeper Emily Mutch fielded the strike comfortably.
Well had their first sight of goal on 38 minutes. Louisa Boyes played in Gill Inglis but her shot was saved by Annalisa McCann.
The Dons went in front five minutes before the interval. Mutch pulled off a great stop to deny Hutchison but the hosts kept the attack going and the ball struck a Motherwell arm in the box. The referee awarded a penalty which Hannah STEWART comfortably dispatched.
The lead didn’t last long though as Motherwell equalised two minutes from the interval. A mix-up in the Dons defence allowed Carla BOYCE to bundle home from close range and send the sides in all-square at the break.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first with the away side starting brightly. Kayla Jardine pounced on some hesitation in the Dons defence but saw her strike crash back off the post.
Motherwell went in front on the hour as the game saw its second penalty. Stewart clumsily barged into the back of Rice in the area and BOYCE scored from the spot.
Aberdeen looked to hit back and Hutchison’s blocked shot led to a corner. Gover’s corner went into a dangerous area and Collins’ header was deflected wide.
The next goal was always going to be important and it went to the away team. A high ball forward evaded Broadrick and JARDINE ran onto it before smashing a shot high into the net.
Young Darcie Miller came on to make her debut joining fellow substitute Elena Karkkainen on the pitch. Collins and Thomson were the players that made way.
The game petered out in the closing stages as the visitors took all three points.
