“We are not going to make excuses about Sunday and say we were tired or whatever. At the end of the day, we lost out to the better team and I felt that we weren’t quite up to the fight.
“We let them in on too many occasions. It wasn’t a great game of football and the ball was up in the air a lot but it is about us dealing with that and trying to manage the game at the right times. The goal before half-time killed us and we weren’t quite able to recover from that. It’s a game of football that we will learn from and we have got to go and make things right tomorrow.
“We need to make sure we don’t get dragged into playing the way that Motherwell play. We need to play our own way and that is about us as a team coming out to go and repay the fans by getting three points tomorrow.”
“On a personal note it has been great to be back in the team enjoying my football again after last season. I feel like myself again and feel fitter and stronger than I ever have.
“I had injuries last season.
“It is not something that any footballer likes to speak about but I have got over it having grafted in pre-season to make sure I was going to come into it as the best version of myself. I feel like I have done that and it is now about continuing to do the right things and make sure that I keep progressing on the pitch. I’m all about trying to help the team this season to success.”
“It is something that I have tried to add to my game. I want to become more of a box-to-box midfielder and to make things happen in both boxes and add more goals and assists.
“I didn’t assist that goal against PAOK but was involved in it. I think I previously would have made an extra pass and maybe missed out that one but I feel the confidence in myself to go and try and make things happen in games now. I was happy with that on a personal note but the ending to the game wasn’t what we all wanted.
