Question: Your building up momentum, how important is that heading into the final five matches?

Answer: “Yes it’s important but you can lose football matches, any team can. It’s been a good run, the players have been outstanding. It’s credit to them, how hard they work for each other. They’ve got a good bond. We know it’s a really difficult game at the weekend, we know it is a very difficult game to go down there against a really good Rangers side. I’ve said before, they are they are still a very, very hard team to play against down there. We know that and we understand that. We need to be bang at it in every department to try and get a result.”

Q: You have played at Ibrox many times, how much are you looking forward to going down there for the first time as a manager?

A: “Yeah, I’m looking forward to it. I have a few memories over the years as a player there. My biggest thing as a player, as a person or as a manager is to go down there with no fear. Go and enjoy it, enjoy the cauldron of atmosphere. When you’re a young player, and you’re coming into the game, that’s where you want to play, in the big arenas. The arena where the pressure is on. Where it’s hostile, where they will come after you and that’s what the game is. That’s where you need to be as a player, your mindset as a player. Don’t fear it. You might come up against better players whatever league you are in but you’ve got to try and embrace it. Myself, when I played with different teams, coming up against big teams, we always enjoyed it and stayed in the fight. That’s what my message is, clear to the players, be brave, be brave with the ball and also be brave without the ball.”

Q: How important is it to get the third spot to help with the recruitment process for next season?

A: “I think that finishing high up as possible is the most important thing, we need to try and do that. But it’s it’s not easy. We will come up against other teams that are trying to fight for the same spots. They will all believe they can finish as high as possible, but it’s not something that I am battering down to the players at the minute. I’m just saying to the players that we’ve got a huge game at the weekend, let’s crack on with that and see, see what we can do.”

Q: You will have a band of fans down at Ibrox, how great would it be to give them a positive result at the weekend?

A: “I know that I am a bit bias, but they are the best in the business for me. They’ve been phenomenal since I’ve been in here, at home and away from home at all of the different places. That’s enjoyable for the players. At Ibrox we’ve got a small pocket of fans, as I said to the players when you go out at Ibrox, or wherever it is, stand with your chest out and go and try your best to win a football match.”
