“As soon as I heard about the interest from Aberdeen I was very keen to speak to them. It is a fantastic football club with a great history. I spoke to the gaffer and he only had good things to say. He really made me want to come and play for him and the football club. I think he will be a great manager to play for and I can’t wait to get started.
“I saw Michael Hector not so long ago and ask him about Aberdeen. He had nothing but good things to say about the club, the lads in the dressing room and the city.
I know Jonny Hayes as he came to Cheltenham on loan for a little while. I have also played against Calvin Zola a few times.
“I was at Cheltenham for a long time and got to know many of the fans. I would like to say thanks to them for all they did for me. They were always right behind me.
“At this stage of my career, I am 29 now, I felt it was the right time to move. An opportunity like this does not come along very often. I am very thankfully for the opportunity.
“I have watched a lot of the Aberdeen games which have been on the TV recently. I was very impressed with the football that they played and the amount of games they won. I watched the League Cup final. It was incredible seeing that number of fans at the game. It would have been great to play in. It showed how Aberdeen is a football mad city and how much the fans want success.
“It will be really good to come and work with Jim and Jamie. There is so much I can learn from them. It is something I am really looking forward to.
“There is only one goalkeeper who can play at any one time. I know from watching Jamie last season I am going to have to put in a very good challenge if I am going to play. Jamie played very well and I am really looking forward to working with him.”

“I only become aware of the interest from Aberdeen about a week ago. Things have escalated very quickly since then.
“I think it’s the perfect step for me football wise. I have played around 200 games at Tranmere and I feel now is the right time to move. The manager gave me a good idea of what the football was like and I thought it was a great opportunity for me.
“I was very impressed with the manager. His football ideas were brilliant and I think he is genuine person. His honestly in terms of what he wanted from me and the football club was what I was after.
“I know it’s a good standard up here. I have spoken to a number of players who all said that about the game up here. The fans are very passionate and I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s a big factor the club are playing in Europe next season. Playing in Europe is a big experience for me and I’m sure it will be a good step for me.
“I like to play football. I like to get it on the ground and play it in to midfield. I like a tackle and a header as well though so you get both sides from me! As well as playing in central defence I have played in midfield before.
“I know Calvin Zola. He was at Tranmere when I was in the youth team. Shay Logan I played with when he was on loan at Tranmere. He’s a great lad, we get on well. I’ve already spoken to him about Aberdeen and he had nothing but good words to say about the club and the gaffer.”
