Angus MacDonald made a brilliant second half clearance to ensure the Dons kept a clean sheet against Dundee and after the game, and when spoke to the media, he pointed to back-to-back shut outs as a sign of progress.

“We take the positives. We’re keeping clean sheets now and that was something we weren’t doing a couple of months back. It was a game of two halves, the conditions played a part and second half, they also changed their shape a little bit to try and affect us, and it worked. With the wind blowing, it was tough. What we did to them first half, they did to us second half. When a team gets on top and you can’t get out and the wind is blowing right in your face, it’s tough. But we didn’t lose, so we take the positives into the Semi-final against Celtic next week.

“We know what we’re up against next week, but if you keep a clean sheet in any game, it gives you a chance to go and win it and that’s hopefully what we’re going to do. The confidence is there, the belief is there in the dressing room.

“We know what we’re playing for. The fans are going to be right behind us and hopefully we can get to a final. If we make a cup final and go on to win the cup, it turns out not to be a bad season. I know we aren’t going to finish where we want to be in the league, but we’ll do everything we can to get to that cup final.

“We’re going to go there with a game plan next week and hopefully we can execute it.”
