After the Dons beat Hibs 2-0 at Pittodrie, Alexander Jensen pointed to the positive approach to the game as being the key to the win.
“I think we played very well as a team today and we helped each other. That was great. More aggression, more forward passes. I would have liked to score with that late run into the box. If it had been slightly closer to the goal, it would have been in. We have talked a lot about playing in behind and going forward a bit more, so we were a bit more of a threat and I think we managed to do that today.
“It's been a tough period, so now we just have to focus on the next game and make sure we win the next game. We haven't been satisfied with the performances ourselves, everyone knows we have to do it better.
“I think we just came together this week and made a good training week because that's where it all starts. I think we have to make this the standard now, so we keep doing this. We just have to prove to everyone that the bottom half is not where we belong and this is not where the club belongs.
“It's been a long time ago since we won a game, so it was a very nice feeling. We obviously knew it was a vital game today, so it was good to get a victory. It was very important.
“But we have to be strong in the last five games and kick on from here, hopefully. The last five games against the other bottom six is vital. If you win those games it's good and if you lose then it's not good!
“The last five games are important and we have to be there at this level every game. We try not to think too much about pressure, just make a good performance and then we take it from there. It’s better to play at home, so hopefully having three games here can give us an advantage.”
Jensen has had a spell where he has been mostly on the bench of late, but he has forced himself back into the first team picture in the last couple of weeks, much to his delight.
“It's not nice, you always want to play as a footballer, but you just have to accept that sometimes some people have different opinions. You just have to work hard and do your best and do what you can to get back into the team.
“Today is only one game and you have to play like this as a team every week. If we play good as a team, then hopefully everyone will play good as individuals as well.”
