Scott Booth’s first match as manager ended in an unfortunate defeat against a tricky Hibs side.
The boss’ tactics had to change early in the action-packed first half, with Lois Edwards being forced to come on due to an injury for Darcie Miller.
Both sides offered attacking promise but it was the hosts who grabbed the first goal in the 16th minute.
Captain Stewart won a free kick on halfway line. Jameison punted the ball towards the box and some slack defending gifted Emily Kraft the chance to tap the ball into the net for her ninth goal of the season.
Kraft nearly turned provider in the 27th minute as she was able to play a through ball to Innes. Hanmah’s shot was unfortunately saved by Clachers.
Hibs started to look strong with their build up play and were rewarded for their efforts 32 minutes in.
A corner found a white shirt but the effort bounces off the ball. Kirsten Reilly picked up the rebound for 1-1.
It took Hibs five minutes into the second half to get their second of the game.
A short corner found its way to Papadopoulos. The defender was able to find space for a pass to Eilidh Adams to give Hibs the early advantage.
In the 53rd minute two became three for the visitors.
Hibs’ winger was able to beat the line of defence, finding herself free to play a pass to Adams. Despite a block, the striker found her shot hit the net for her second of the game.
Hibs were awarded a penalty 69 minutes in when Sidey brought down McGovern. The keeper made amends by saving the attacker’s spot kick.
The visitors’ fourth came in the 83rd minute, when a low Ferguson cross in the box was hit into the net by Nicola Jameison.
Three minutes later and Hibs got their fifth when clever play from Papadopoulos gifted McGovern the chance to slot the ball past Sidey.
McGovern got her second in the 87th minute, finding a cross from the right hand side.
The striker secured her hat trick in injury time, hitting a low free kick past the wall and Sidey to complete the scoring.
The Dons return to the Balmoral Stadium on Wednesday for the rearranged fixture against Motherwell.
