Aberdeen (SCO) v Ordabasy (KAZ) or Široki Brijeg (BIH)

Aberdeen have been handed potentially another trip to Kazakhstan after the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League second qualifying round draw took place this afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland.

Or the Dons could be travelling to Bosnia Herzegovina.

Ordabasy Shymkent from Kazakhstan will face NK Široki Brijeg from Bosnia in the Europa League first qualifying round, with the Dons, who were seeded, facing the winners.

Ordabasy finished in 4th spot in the 2016 Kazakh Premier League. This season after 18 games they are sitting in third spot, only two points behind FC Kairat who knocked Aberdeen out of the UEFA Europa League two seasons ago at the third-round stage and four points adrift of leaders Astana.

Bosnian side Široki Brijeg last season finished seventh in the Premijer Liga but qualified for Europe after winning their national cup competition, beating Sarajevo on penalties over two legs.

Details of the games will be confirmed in due course but are scheduled to take place on the 13th and 20th of July.

Although Aberdeen’s number was drawn first meaning the first leg should be played at Pittodrie, all European fixtures can be switched due to circumstances.
