Winger Vicente Besuijen completes four-and-a-half-year deal.

Aberdeen Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of sought-after Dutch Youth International winger, Vicente Besuijen, subject to international clearance.

The 20-year-old signs on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Dutch side ADO Den Haag.

Aged only 19, Vicente played thirty games for ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie last season and has already featured twenty-five times for them this campaign, scoring six goals and providing ten assists.

The Club has beaten of stiff competition from other suitors in Scotland and Europe to land such a talented prospect, who has also featured for Ajax Academy and Roma in the UEFA Youth League. Vicente’s arrival further reinforces the Dons strategy to be the best developer of talent, creating a clear and achievable pathway to first team football for its players.

With yet another young prospect committing their future to Aberdeen, Manager Stephen Glass, believes the Club is creating the perfect environment for emerging young players to enhance their professional development.

He said: “Vicente is a very exciting talent and a player the Club fought hard to secure as we believe he has a bright future in the game.

“This is an important piece of investment, similar to when Lewis Ferguson and Ross McCrorie arrived at the Club, and it aligns with our commitment to give young players a clear pathway in their careers.

“It is vital we continue to strike the correct balance between experience and youth, but we believe Vicente is a player who will continue to flourish, and we’re delighted he has decided to come to Pittodrie. It was clear in discussions that he had a desire to pull on the red jersey and is excited about representing Aberdeen.

“We look forward to working with Vicente to continue his development.”
