AFC Extend Ticketing Partnership with SeatGeek

Aberdeen Football Club is delighted to announce a multi-year contract extension of their ticketing partnership with SeatGeek after a hugely successful initial four-year term. SeatGeek will continue to deliver fans a leading-edge ticket purchasing experience at Pittodrie Stadium and will work closely with club staff to deliver a range of initiatives as fans are set to be welcomed back to stadiums over the coming months.

Jamie Howell, AFC’s Ticket Office Manager, said: “We’re delighted to have extended our agreement with SeatGeek after a successful first term for the club operating on the SRO ticketing platform.

“Working in partnership with SeatGeek, we have transformed the Club’s ticketing operations and delivered on a range of goals and initiatives for our fans.

“We have rolled out a full digital website transformation project, including a brand-new online ticketing purchase journey, Single Sign-On, mobile ticket entry and the hugely successful AberDNA Membership model which has generated over £1.8m of additional revenue for the club since it’s launch in 2018 and now forms the bedrock of our Membership offering”.

Planning ahead, the safe return of Aberdeen fans for season 2021/22 is now a priority for Jamie and his team and he has been delighted with the collaboration with SeatGeek as new and updated software updates and processes have been put in place.

Jamie added; “SeatGeek have built a range of new functionality during the pandemic and we are now able to manage socially distanced protocols such as flexible, limited-capacity seat maps, Covid-19 waivers and the ability to capture additional data regarding travel to and from the stadium on matchday. SeatGeek have really delivered for us as we plan our return to Pittodrie with fans and move to Single Sign-On over the coming weeks and months”.

Aberdeen is currently the only Scottish Premiership team to partner with SeatGeek, which already tickets many of the world’s leading sports teams and venues, including over 50% of English Premier League football clubs, 30% of EFL Championship football clubs as the Lloyd Webber Theatre group in London’s West End. Many of the biggest brands in the world, from Manchester City FC to Dallas Cowboys, use SRO to provide their fans with a best in class, seamless ticketing experience.
