Aberdeen striker Michael Ruth has today signed a one year contract extension, committing him to the Dons until 2022.

The 18 year old has also agreed to join Arbroath on loan for the 2020/21 season in order to get some valuable first team experience.

Michael signed for the Dons last summer from Queen’s Park, having already played for their first team.

In his first season at Reserve level Michael helped Paul Sheerin’s side get to the Reserve Cup Final and he also helped the U18s reach the SFA Youth Cup Final, scoring both goals that defeated Rangers in the semi-final.

In all games he scored 17 goals, and won the Development Player of the Year award.

This season he has appeared on the Aberdeen bench for the first team and made his debut for the senior side in the friendly game in Dubai against Jordanian side Al-Wehdat SC during the 2019 winter training camp.

Everyone wishes Michael all the very best for the season ahead at Gayfield.
