The annual Aberdeen Football Club Player of the Year dinner took place this evening at the AECC. The club were delighted to welcome over 760 guests to our eighth official Player of the Year dinner, which was once again sponsored by Team Recruitment.

There were six awards handed out on the night.

Aberdeen FC Community Trust Supporter of the Year 

The Community Supporter Award sponsored by MGS Logistics recognises the outstanding contribution made by an individual, group or organisation in support of the AFC Community Trust vision, which is.. “To provide support and opportunity to change lives for the better.” The winner was chosen by the Trust management team.

Aberdeen FC Community Trust Supporter of the Year is Inverurie Loco Works FC and Garioch Sports Trust.

General Manager of Garioch Sports Centre, Kevin Bonarius collected the award.

Development Player of the Year (Sponsored by Central Coaches)

The winner of this award was selected by Derek McInnes and Paul Sheerin and has been based on the contribution that this player has made to the Development Team over the course of the season.

Our 2018/19 Development Player of the Year is Ethan Ross

Young Player of the Year (Sponsored by ESWL)

This award was once again selected by the Manager, Derek McInnes, and his management team.

Our Young Player of the Year is Lewis Ferguson

Goal of the Season (Sponsored by Cable Solutions Worldwide)

This award was voted for by the Red Army through RedTV, with the AFC media team drawing up the shortlist.

The winner of this season’s Goal of the season award is Lewis Ferguson for his overhead kick against Burnley in the Europa League.

Players’ Player of the Year (Sponsored by RAM Tubulars Scotland)

This award allowed the players themselves to select a teammate who they believe has made the biggest contribution to the team during the season. The award is voted for by all first team players via a private ballot

The Players’ Player of the Year is Max Lowe.

AFC Player of the Year (Sponsored by The Ace Group)

We gave supporters the opportunity to vote for their Player of the Year and via afc.co.uk, fans were asked to select the player they feel has had the biggest impact on first team performances this season and who subsequently deserved to be the recipient of this coveted award for 2018/2019.

The three players who received the most votes, in alphabetical order, were Lewis Ferguson, Joe Lewis and Graeme Shinnie.
