We’re devastated in the dressing room
For more than 90 minutes it looked as if Connor Barron’s brilliant first minute goals would be enough to win the three points for Aberdeen at St Mirren, but two late goals for the home side left the Dons midfielder lamenting some all too familiar failings this season.
“The goal was nice on a personal level, but we’re here to get the three points, that’s what matters. We felt comfortable in the game until that last ten minutes, then individual errors have cost us again. We needed to battle, we knew it would be ugly but we needed to see the game out. Unfortunately, we didn’t do that.
“We’re devastated in the dressing room, but we have to pick ourselves up and go again in the cup game next weekend. We can’t be down in the dumps, we have to turn this around for the football club.
“You couldn’t see where they were going to score, but it’s been the story of our season, we give away cheap goals with our own errors. It’s not good enough and we have to look forward and put it right. Three points would have been massive today, but there’s still plenty of points to win and we have to go and get them. Everybody in the dressing room knows where we’re at and what we need to do. It’s got to turn round fast.”
