“The move has been on the cards for a while. There were a few other clubs that were interested but I thought more and more about it and Aberdeen is a brilliant club with a brilliant history. It is the best option for me.
“I play in midfield; I like to attack a bit more than defending but I can do both.
“I have spoken to the manager. Scott Brown has joined as well so there are already some very good midfielders at the club so I will have to fight for my place.
“The way the manager wants to play football will suit my game. At Brighton we like to keep possession so playing here will suit my game perfectly.
“I have been at Brighton for nearly 10 years now, I started there when I was 10 years old.
“This is different for me, a change of scenery. Aberdeen is a long way from Brighton!
“Last season I was in and out of the first team and I played with the U23’s as well. I featured in a few cup games, and I was on the bench for some Premier League games. It was a good season for me.
“I can’t remember a youth player from Brighton coming up on loan to Scotland, so I thought why not be the first, it is something a bit different for me. I know Graham Potter is keen on me moving to Aberdeen.
“I have played for England at U15’s, 16’s and 17’s. I played for the U17’s at the Euros in 2019, that was a great experience. It has been really good playing for England at youth level.
“It is great to get the loan move sorted so quickly. I just wanted to get my future sorted so I could focus on my off-season work. Now it is done I can focus fully on getting ready for the first day of pre-season.
“I know James Maddison came up on loan here and did well, it is a good pathway for young players.
“Next season my aim is to get as much game time under my belt, help the team out, score goals and play well. I do enjoy scoring goals; it is one of the big things I want to do here.
“I can’t wait to get started.”
