Scottish Cup Preview | Ryan Hedges on RedTV
Saturday
“The break was a good time to have a bit of downtime and recharge the batteries.
“We are all back here now focused on the job hand and that is to get through this round in the cup.
“A cup upset can happen in football. We have got to be on our game to make sure that an upset doesn’t happen.
“I have been on the wrong side of cup upsets in my career. I remember when I was at Yeovil, we lost to Solihull on penalties which wasn’t nice, so I know how that feels.
“I have also played at Wembley against Tottenham in the League Cup and that was a great feeling.
“We know what we need to do to get through and to get to the final and win the competition.”
The Squad
“Healthy competition is good, and it pushes the lads to prove that they should be playing. When Matty comes in the summer we will welcome him in, and we will welcome him into the squad.
“The gaffer has brought in Dylan who can get the ball forward. Our midfield is very good and can be attack minded at times. That is going to help the front lads to keep getting goals.
“You can tell the quality that Dylan has got, and he has fitted in really well which is always nice.”
The Summer
“With Euro 2020 only six months away, every Welsh player wants to be at the top of their game. Every player aspires to represents their country at a major tournament and that will be an unbelievable achievement.
“I will keep working hard and hopefully will get the opportunity to do that.
“We have had camps in September, October and November so I am always constantly in contact with the Welsh setup.
“The next camp isn’t until March so hopefully I will do enough to be there.”
The Support
“The initiative that the club has in the Merkland is important.
“It is always nice to play in a big atmosphere and it does help the players. I know it’s a cliché, but it can be a 12th man at times.
“I have lept into the Richard Donald stand when I scored against Hearts so hopefully, I can leap into the Merkland on Saturday!”
“I have settled into life at Aberdeen pretty well. I think the fans have taken to me which is nice. I have started well but I know there is a lot more to come. In the second half of the season as a team and for me personally we have got to push on and be where we want to be.”
