ROSS SIBLINGS LOOKING TO MAKE THEIR MARK THIS SEASON
Aberdeen’s young Ross brothers, Seb and Ethan, from Kintore are well aware the forthcoming season is a big one for them as they look to establish themselves in the Pittodrie first team.
RedTV caught up with them at the pre-season training camp in Cork and 18-year-old Ethan, the younger of the pair by a year, is looking to kick on after making his debut as a substitute in the last campaign.
“This season is all about getting more game time and that goes for both of us. We spoke about it in the close season and that’s what we’re pushing to do this season, get involved, get in the gaffer’s head and hopefully he can give us some minutes on the pitch. Last season was a good one for me and getting my debut where Seb was on loan (at Stenhousemuir) made it a bit sweeter. Any time I’m on the pitch is brilliant for me.”
And there was no jealousy whatsoever on the part of Seb, who has yet to make his top team debut. “There can’t be any jealousy in family and I think I was probably the happiest man alive in that place and it was good to see. Sometimes when I’m even watching him at Pittodrie when he comes on you can see he lightens up the game so hopefully there will be a lot more of that to come this season.”
Both brothers have been impressed at how easily the new arrivals at the club have integrated with their new teammates, as Seb outlines. “I think they’ve fitted in perfectly. There’s no real divides which sometimes happens but here everyone’s mixed in well together so it’s looking good for the start of the season.” Ethan concurs with his brother. “The new boys have settled in well and they’ve shown what they can do on the pitch so hopefully that continues for us.”
