“This was my first game here. And we were the dominant team.
“I was a spectator for pretty much the whole game apart from the one chance towards the end that they had on the counter-attack. Thankfully I was able to get my foot to it. As a keeper you know that the opposition will normally have one chance at some point, even in games when one team is well on top. You always need to concenrate. I am glad to have played my part.
“I thought we had a lot of good play; it was just that final bit of putting the ball in the net that we didn’t do today. Their keeper made a couple of good saves, but we should have been a bit more clinical.
“It is two points dropped and we are disappointed. We are frustrated.
“But there are a lot of positives to take and we move onto Tuesday which is an important game.
“The attitude was good, and the intent was there but the finishing touch wasn’t.
“We have a responsibility as a whole team to score goals, especially from set plays and it is not all down to the strikers. We also need to look at the balls into the box for the strikers. The strikers didn’t take their chances today, but I am sure they will next time.
“Another positive is we let them have very few chances. They have got some good players and we knew their threats. They have good players going forward and we tried to expose them defensively.
“It is not just about the defence for getting these clean sheets, it is about the whole team. We are pressing and working hard to win the ball back and that allows us a defensive unit to get up the pitch and to defend our halfway line instead of our defensive box. We are not going to celebrate a clean sheet today when we should have had three points.
“We have to move on, and we look forward to an important game on Tuesday.”
