“I think with the injuries that we have to key players in defence and in midfield, it has been a bad time for the club. It has been more freak injuries. It hasn’t really been contact injuries, more muscle or freak injuries. With Bryson he just turned on his ankle.

“Obviously it has been hard for the team to take on board and it has been hard on the manager as well. It is a difficult time and it is a frustrating time when you are injured.

“I have just come back from a longish term ankle injury myself and the other players just have to be grateful that we have a strong squad. We just have to go out and work even harder to do well for the team.

“We can’t make excuses about having injuries, but we would like to have a fully fit squad.”
