“Training’s been fun this morning and hopefully we can carry on from Sunday into tomorrow and get the three points, so we can start kicking on in the league.

“That’s the way we’ve got to look at it (a launch pad). We played well on the night and hopefully we can do that Wednesday. We’ll take it game by game, but know we need to start pushing up the table.

“The confidence has always been there, it’s just about getting the performance on the pitch. Sometimes the performance has been there, but the result hasn’t so hopefully we can get the best of both worlds tomorrow and get the three points.

“It’s my first experience of Hampden and it was really good. I came on for Andy and it’s good to hear he’s ok and hopefully he’ll be back with us soon. Coming on early in the game was difficult, but I felt like the lads made it easy for me. The gaffer told me what I needed to do beforehand in case anything happened, so I was always ready.

“It was hard seeing Andy like that in that state, but I’m just happy to know he’s ok and doing well. Before I came on the gaffer gave me a chat and just calmed me down and I got with the game quite quickly. The lads around helped me – Scotty beside me and Niall in front.

“We’ve got a lot of games before that (the final) so we need to concentrate on that first, but the final’s going to be great and a good experience for me being a young lad and playing in such a big occasion. But that is for later. We’ll look forward to tomorrow then hopefully pick up some points before the final.

“Every game I’ve played in has been tough, so we’ll be expecting that. We’ll go in confident and believe we can get a positive result, but we’re not going to take them for granted.

“Rangers have a strong squad, but so have we. We were really confident going into the game and the gaffer said before that we were confident of getting the win. That performance on the night showed we know we’re capable and that’s what we’ll be needing to do from now on.

“On the night they (Devlin and Mckenna) were perfect in the way they played as a partnership and Scotty’s been really good with me. Even Andy’s been telling me some stuff to work on defensively and there’s a lot of my game I can learn from him. He, Shinnie and all the lads have been good with me and helped my game in the short time I’ve been here.

“Defensively we have been strong and if we’re picking up clean sheets, it’s going to take us in the right direction.

“It’s the same as any game. We always cover it and do all our preparation the right way, but it does come along quickly so we’ve got to be ready for tomorrow night.

“We’ve got everything to prove and because of Sunday we’ve shown everybody what we can do. We’ve got to prove that tomorrow night and hopefully that will be just the start of things. We’ve got a run of games now to get some points before Christmas and hopefully it can put us back up at the top end of the table.”
