“You get two wins in a row and the confidence is going to go up. It had previously been a tough few games by not getting the results that we wanted. We are feeling good going into Sunday’s game.
“It has been two tough games against them so far this season. We are learning each time we play them. We will work on in training how to play against them and we will go into Sunday’s game with a positive mindset.
“Our performances and results have been up and down this season but we have now had two wins on the bounce, four goals in each of the games and different goal scorers as well is always a positive. We know that we can create chances from lots of different players all over the pitch.
“It has been a big step up to SWPL1, it has been tough, there have been a few games where I have not been happy with my own performance but it is more about the team. I am happy to contribute with goals and assists but as long as we are winning and performing well I will be happy.”
Chloe
“We had been struggling for goals but we have scored four goals in two games now. There has been a change in training and in games, you can see that and we are playing with a lot more confidence.
“We will do our research on them. It is a home game so you never know what can happen. We are playing with confidence at the moment.
“I have enjoyed the step up to the top flight, I felt I had struggled a bit in recent games but scoring the other night has helped my confidence.
“I scored against Rangers earlier in the season, I hope to do the same again! They are a really good side.”
Co-manager Emma Hunter also previewed Sunday’s game at the Balmoral Stadium:
“We all know the quality that Rangers have got and they are top of the league for a reason. They’ve got a squad full of international players so we know what we are up against. I think, looking back on our first game against Rangers this season in the League Cup, we did really well and I think we gave them a wee bit of a fright.
“We need to take some of the belief we showed in that game into Sunday’s match and I think it will be different now that we are at home. When we are on home turf, we know we’ve got the support of the Red Army behind us and that can really lift the players. We know the quality that Malky Thomson has in his Rangers side but we also know that we are always improving and if we can put into practice the things we’ve been working on over the last few months, then we’ll be a lot closer to them.
“We come into the game following a fantastic victory over Hearts down in Edinburgh last Sunday. I thought the players played really well as it can be difficult playing against ten players. Although we still took some things away from that game to work on, I was really pleased with the attitude and performance of the players. To go away from home and score four goals whilst keeping a clean sheet is a great bonus and the attitude of all the players involved, even those that never played, was great after the disappointing defeat the previous week.
“SWPL1 is a competitive league and even though the teams at the top have stretched away a bit in terms of points, they have still been involved in some close games. You never know what can happen on any given day and as long as we work really, really hard I think we can make it hard for Rangers.
“The support from The Red Army makes a huge difference to the players and they can play a part in cheering the team on in this big game.”
