“I am back. It has been a long annoying and frustrating road for myself but finally I am at the end of it and hopefully I will be involved this weekend. It was very irritating as I had been involved with the team and was just getting back to full fitness.

“The injury was an unusual one for me. I have not suffered a soft tissue injury before. I did not recognise the signs because I had not had them before. I was still training when there was a problem. Now I am a lot more knowledgeable.

“So my main aim is to stay fit for the rest of the season and do things right that will make me available for selection. I don’t want to be in that position again.

“It has been difficult watching on. Obviously you want to help the team. It has been frustrating. But watching the games you still try and learn and you see things you want to do when you get back out onto the pitch.

“After the game on Saturday it was a difficult one for everyone at the club to take.

“We feel it was a very out of character result. But one we need to look at and put right. The mood was a bit down for a few days but things have picked up again as the week has gone on. Everyone has bounced back and all our focus is on getting a win at the weekend. You have to remain positive.

“We have a lot of games coming up, and that is the nature of football. You have games which don’t go so well but then you have three games in a week, so you have to move on quickly. It is all about the next game and the next result.

“In any job you are going to get criticism. What winners do is harness that criticism and show people that they are wrong. We all believe that last weekend’s result was a freak result but is up to us now to show why it was a freak result and we can only do that by getting back to winning ways and getting another winning run going.

“No one likes to get criticised. When you are at a big club like Aberdeen you are going to get criticised if you don’t put in the performances and don’t get the results. We are here for a reason. All the players want to show why they are here.

“There are no easy games in the league. Especially this season. But we have to go into more games showing that we are the authoritative team out of the two sides. We have to dominate teams more. And we need to score goals. That is something that has been lacking in recent weeks and something we have to put right.”
