Striker Bojan Miovski joined the Dons from MTK Budapest in the summer, and the 23-year-old arrived in Spain on Tuesday night to meet up with his new team mates.

Whilst the manager and everyone at AFC is very happy to have secured Bojan’s services, then the player himself is just as delighted to sign up at Pittodrie.

“I’m very grateful to the management and the coach to give me this opportunity to be here in this big club. I know this club has a huge history, so for me, it’s a big step in my career to be here, it is a real honour to be here. I’m so excited and I will give everything to reach the targets we want to aim for at the club.

“I was very happy to meet the guys here, they’ve been fantastic, very welcoming. Everybody’s nice here and I’m very happy how fast they have accepted me in the group.

“I think Aberdeen have followed me for a long time and this makes me very happy because it shows how serious they are. I immediately choose this option to come here, because I know I can grow up here, I can improve. Because for the young players, this club is perfect for learning and improving.

“I don’t know so much about Scottish football because we don’t see it on TV, but I know it’s very hard physically with a good tempo. I think I will fit in very well to the style of play – if I didn’t think that, I wouldn’t come! I feel I can do well here.”

From futsal to football is the story of Bojan’s development as a player.

“I started first by playing futsal when I was 14, 15 years old, then I changed and I started to play a lot more football. Everything started from the Academy in my city. I grew up in in the academy after I started with the senior football in Bregalnica, in Macedonia. I stayed there for one and a half year and then I made a transfer to Hungary and MTK Budapest. I had a perfect two years there and now I’m here!”

Of course, Bojan isn’t the only recruit from MTK, with Ylber Ramadani having made the move here earlier in the summer too. What’s the inside line on his defensive midfield colleague?

“Ylber is fantastic, he’s very ambitious, he wants to win. He has a lot of energy, he fights for every ball, he’s a good number six. I think he will be a success here. I have a good relationship with him, so it will help both of us to have the other at the club as we get used to things. It is difficult with the visa situation to get my family here for a while, they need to wait, and so that is hard, so it will be good to have him here too.”

Bojan is becoming a regular for North Macedonia and hopes that playing at Aberdeen will further his international career, and vice versa.

“I’ve said many times it is a big pleasure to play for North Macedonia. I think every young player will dream about the chance to play for their national team. I think I have done well until now. I hope I will do better now I play here.

“Every striker wants to score goals and be the number one striker. My first aim is to help the team to reach the targets and we have big targets to be in the top three. If I score a lot of goals, I think we will reach the target at the club.”
