Derek Rae recently joined the RedTV team as a special contributor.

The renowned broadcaster and Dons fan is a former ESPN and BT Sport SPFL commentator and now the voice of the most popular football video game in the world, EA Sports FIFA, as well as one of the main commentators for the Bundesliga’s international feed.

Although he is based in America, Derek will be contributing to our improved content on RedTV throughout the coming season and, first up he did an hour-long interview with a Dons legend!

One of the most consistent players in our history, Bobby Clark spent 17 years with the club after being signed by manager Eddie Turnbull in 1965 and made close to 600 appearances for Aberdeen between 1965 and 1980. During his time in the North-east, the goalkeeper picked up a clean sweep of domestic honours with the Dons, winning the 1970 Scottish Cup, the 1976 League Cup and the 1979/80 Premier League Championship. Bobby also earned 17 caps for Scotland.

After leaving the Dons, he took up coaching in the US, spending 16 years as the head coach of the University of Notre Dame’s men’s soccer team before retiring a couple of years ago.

The football academy at Cormack Park is named after the Pittodrie great.
