Derek Rae in Conversation with Alex McLeish
Dons legend and Gothenburg Great, Alex McLeish is the latest ex-player to join Derek Rae ‘In Conversation’ on RedTV.
He looks back at his lengthy Pittodrie career from being signed by Ally Macleod in 1977 to his first team debut under Billy McNeill and on to the golden era under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson. Having spent his entire playing career with The Dons, Alex amassed 692 appearances scoring 30 goals- most famously in the 1982 Scottish Cup Final against Rangers at Hampden Park, an occasion he recalls with great satisfaction in the interview.
Other topics of conversation include ‘that’ night in Gothenburg, the influence of Teddy Scott and leading the team out as captain in the 1990 Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.
