Danish defender Richard Jensen accepted that the Dons deserved nothing from the game at Rugby Park when he spoke to the press afterwards.

He told RedTV: “Kilmarnock were better than us in both penalty areas today. There are no excuses from us, they were just better in the big moments in the game. They won the duels that resulted in their two goals, they were stronger than us, and we need to make sure that doesn’t happen again. At the other end, we weren’t able to really produce the amount of chances that we usually can.

“It’s a challenge to manage the schedule of playing on Thursday night and Sunday, but that’s not an excuse, we should be able to manage that better on the pitch.

“We have a game coming up on Wednesday, so there’s a chance for us to put things right and start climbing the table. Every game is a big one and we want to show a better side of ourselves at Motherwell.”
