Neil Warnock | Rangers Reaction
Following his first game in charge of the Dons, new boss Neil Warnock was encouraged by much of what he saw from his players at Ibrox.
“To go a goal down early doors at a place like Ibrox is difficult, but I thought the application and the endeavour was excellent. The centre-halves were super, they kept it nice and calm. We showed them a bit too much respect early on, but we got past that and I thought we grew into the game. When you get their ball boys wasting time in the last 10 minutes, you know you’re doing well – they must get coached with their first team.
“We just needed to improve in one or two little areas in the second half, but the attitude was superb, the fans were brilliant, I can’t ask for much more. We created some decent chances, one at the start of the second half, a couple of things late on, the free-kick wasn’t far away.
“Then you’ve got Miovski. I told him yesterday I haven’t seen one like him in the Premier League in England never mind in Scotland, and I think he’ll get 30 goals this year. A good lad as well, great attitude, you don’t always get strikers working their socks, but he does that as well and gives us options to play different ways.
“I think we tried to do things a bit too quickly, when they could have been a bit more precise but I think that’s because they’re keen to impress a new manager. They’ve digested an awful lot from us on what we want in such a short space of time, and there were a lot of pluses for me in the game and things that give me encouragement to look forward the rest of the season.”
