Match Preview | Spartans Women v Aberdeen Women
Aberdeen Women are on the road this weekend as they travel to the capital to take on Spartans in the Scottish Power Women’s Premier League. The Dons head into the game looking to bounce back to winning ways after losing out to Hearts in our last league match. Spartans go into the game having played out a 2-2 draw with Hibs in their last league encounter. The Ainslie Park team had been 2-0 up but after going down to 10 players following a red card to Dion McMahon, Hibs managed to come back from two goals down to claim a point.
Manager Clinton Lancaster spoke to RedTV ahead of the game:
“It was a tough one to take on Sunday but we did play some good football so there were loads of positives to take from it. We will get to training this week and work on the things that need to be worked on ahead of Spartans. The mood is good everybody is happy and looking forward to the next game.

“Having a full week to prepare for the game makes a huge difference. This week is good, we are back into full training and it allows us to prepare properly ahead of this one.”
Midfielder Eilidh Shore also looked ahead to our trip to Ainslie Park:
“There are positives that we can take from the Hearts game. It was a good performance, especially in the first-half, on the ball we were good but lacked that cutting edge in the final third.

“You go into the season and want to aim as high as possible but for us it is about taking it game by game and seeing how we compete from each of the games and take it from there.”
