“I think it’s always good to win games. We’ve had a lot of hard games recently, we had a good win against Hearts as well. Before that we were coming off the back of some really tough games, but the one thing I’ve always noticed about the squad is they always bounce back well. For me, there has never been an issue with that from the players. We’re just looking forward to the game and I think it’s obviously good preparation getting the win against Eintracht Frankfurt, but we’re just looking forward to the game on Sunday.
“If you’re a player and you’re a young player and you want to go and play at the highest level, this is what you do. This is what they’ve worked their whole careers for to go and play in cup finals. The one thing I know about the group and the squad is they’ve gone away to some big stadiums in Frankfurt, played against PAOK here, we lost a goal in the last minute, so they’ve been used to the big occasion. All of the European games will have helped with that to be able to play in big games.
“Everybody wants to win. Everybody wants to win a trophy. Every fan deserves to win a trophy. You need to go and earn it. Make sure you put in a good a performance in as you can. For me it’s something we really want to do, this club has got great tradition. If we perform well we’ve got an opportunity to go and lift a cup.
“We finished third in our Group in the Conference League and we’ve played in the group stages of Europe, so that’s been really good. It is always something that I’ve wanted to do as a coach is manage in Europe. Winning a cup is something that the club wants to do. I just want to see the players, the fans and everybody in the club being happy and winning a cup. We know it’s going to be difficult. We know we’re the underdogs, so let’s just see if we can put a real performance on.
“Bojan said he was alright this morning. Obviously we’ve got still got another training session to go tomorrow. So we’ll see how he is tomorrow and we can we can go from there. Everybody else was okay after the game last night.
“You’ve got to try and enjoy it. That’s the most important thing. What they have got now is they’ve got some real big games under their belt. That’s going to be a real positive going into the game but these players are hungry they want to do well. We signed these players because they were hungry and some of the boys have already been here. Go and enjoy the occasion, run for your club, work for your club and for yourself. Bring your best performance you can on the day and it gives you a chance to win.
“The fans can make a huge difference on Sunday, they always have. I think they’ve enjoyed these European outings and trips. I think they enjoyed the Semi-final and I think they’ll go and enjoy the Final and they will be massive for us. They’re the ones that will give us an extra level on our performance with their backing.”
