Esson & Aberdein

Official Property & Legal Partner of Aberdeen Football Club

Laws of the game: dedicated Dons fans get legal upgrade

An exciting new law firm has been appointed as the Official Legal and Property Partner of Aberdeen Football Club.

Supporters of the club will now enjoy a host of benefits through Esson & Aberdein, including getting their season ticket fully paid for if they sell a home with the law firm.

Joni Esson, the Managing Director of Esson & Aberdein, said: “I grew up in Aberdeenshire and have spent more than a decade practicing in the city, so know what this club means to people here. It’s brilliant that we can make sure many of those fans get to enjoy their season ticket on us.

“Aberdeen Football Club has positioned itself at the heart of its community and as more of our distinctive red ‘for sale’ boards appear across the north-east, we want there to be no doubt that we are also totally committed to this area and its people.”

“That is exactly the same as the philosophy at Aberdeen Football Club. This is just the start of a great partnership and together we are planning some exciting and meaningful community initiatives.”

Since launching earlier this year, Esson & Aberdein has expanded rapidly and its official appointment by the Pittodrie club as its Legal and Property Partner is an important milestone.

The law firm will also offer legal and property services on preferential terms to all Dons fans who have season tickets or are members of the club’s AberDNA scheme, as well as the club’s 300 staff.

Other benefits mean season ticket holders and AberDNA members can secure a simple Will for £250, enjoy a discounted Property Management fee of 7.5% and No Broker Fee mortgage advice.

Joni added: “We wanted to do something meaningful that supports the city’s football team and recognises the loyalty of fans choosing Esson & Aberdein as a strategic partner and supporter of Aberdeen Football Club.”

Sarah McColl, AFC’s Partnership Manager said: “We see a real opportunity here to bring together our supporters and a local company that shares our values and commitment to play an active role in supporting communities across the North-East.

“We have long prioritised finding new and innovative ways to best support our fans and our city; fan experience is not restricted to matchdays, and we are delighted to have a unique and consumer-centric offer here with our Official Legal and Property Partners, Esson & Aberdein.

“Through this new partnership we are excited to be able to provide some fantastic savings for our supporters whilst supporting a local business.”

Esson & Aberdein was launched in April by Joni and Rob Aberdein, another of the city’s best-known legal names. As well as property and estate agency the firm specialises in family law and will continue to expand its range of services.

It aims to harness technology to improves the service and experience of clients, to make legal services less transactional and far more focused on building valuable, long-term relationships.

Rob Aberdein, who is CEO of the new law firm, added: “Ordinary people need legal services at all of the most important times in their lives – buying or selling a home, setting up a business, planning a Will, or dealing with elderly relatives.

“A good lawyer used to be as important to a family as a good bank manager, a trusted family GP or quality tradesmen whose number you would guard with your life. We want to get back to that.

“Our partnership with Aberdeen FC means we can offer guidance and advice for Dons fans, their families and their businesses when it comes to mortgages, buying and selling a home, divorces, dispute resolution and so much more.”

Esson & Aberdein is part of the Moray Group, which was founded by Mr Aberdein in 2020. It is a stable of professional services firms focused on using technology to deliver better services across property, law and finance.

Esson & Aberdein Step Up Support of the Dons

Aberdeen FC’s Official Legal & Property Partner helps to make Pittodrie the perfect home for families

Young Dons supporters are set to enjoy an enhanced matchday experience throughout the remainder of the 2022/2023 season thanks to Aberdeen FC’s Official Legal & Property Partner, Esson & Aberdein.

The legal, property and financial services providers have extended their agreement with Aberdeen FC until May 2023.

As part of their extended agreement, Aberdeen FC’s new designated area for families in Richard Donald Stand Upper will now be known as the ‘Esson & Aberdein Family Area’.

Esson & Aberdein, who recently became part of leading UK professional services firm Progeny, will support the Dons to offer entertainment for all young supporters in this part of the stadium at every home match along with giveaways and other goodies at selected matches throughout the season.

Joe Bowie, Chief Operating Officer of Esson & Aberdein, said: “One year on from kicking-off the partnership with AFC, we are really pleased to be able to develop the relationship further by playing our part in the growth of the new family area.  We believe in delivering more to the communities in which we do business and work with so many families daily to help them secure their family home.

“When we heard about the family area at Pittodrie we decided to partner up with AFC to enhance the experience and support the club to deliver more to families on a matchday at their home of football, Pittodrie Stadium.

“I was at the match against Kilmarnock, and it was fantastic to see so many young supporters in and around the area and hearing them throughout the game itself – they made plenty of noise! We want to play our part in making all their trips to Pittodrie as enjoyable as they possibly can be in the family area.

“By extending our relationship as an Official Club Partner, we look forward to continuing to offer support, guidance and advice to Dons supporters through our legal & property services throughout the season.”

Aberdeen FC’s Supporter Liaison Officer, Lynn Fiske, added: “The space for families has been a positive addition this season and has made a significant difference on matchdays, most notably during our last home match where there was plenty of noise coming from the Richard Donald Upper Stand and the area was packed, which was great to see.

“We are really grateful to Esson & Aberdein for their support of this initiative which will be invaluable as we look to improve the family area and develop it further throughout the season to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for all the families who are coming along, be that season ticket holders or first-time attendees!”

In addition to the support of the Esson & Aberdein Family Area, the law firm will also continue to offer legal and property services on preferential terms to all Dons fans who have season tickets or are members of the club’s AberDNA scheme, as well as the club’s 300 staff.

Other benefits mean season ticket holders and AberDNA members can secure a simple Will for £250 and ‘No Broker Fee’ mortgage advice.
