Topi Keskinen has today joined Danish Superliga side Odense Boldklub for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old Finnish international departs Pittodrie after two seasons with the Dons, having made a positive impression during his time in the North-east, most notably playing his part in helping the Dons to lift the Scottish Cup for the first time in 35 years.
Dons boss Stephen Robinson said:
“Having been in Scotland for two years Topi made it clear to me that he wanted to look at other opportunities and when a very good offer was presented to the Club, that met our valuation, we decided to accept it and allow him to leave.
“There has been interest in Topi for several weeks and as such we have been preparing for his departure behind the scenes for some time. We will now move to try and execute some of the potential replacement plans.
“Topi always gave his best for the Club but from our perspective it’s a deal that makes sense for both parties and he leaves with our best wishes.”
Topi Keskinen joined Aberdeen from HJK Helsinki in August 2024 and quickly became a popular figure among the Red Army with his direct style of play and commitment on the pitch. The winger made 89 appearances, and scored nine goals contributing to important moments throughout his spell with the Dons.
Topi said: “I was made to feel very welcome by everyone at Aberdeen and by the supporters. Playing at Pittodrie in front of the Red Army was a special experience, and I'll always be grateful to be leaving with a Scottish Cup winners medal.
"I'd like to thank my teammates, the coaching staff and everyone behind the scenes for their support.
" I wish the Club every success in the future and I'll always look back on my time in Aberdeen fondly.”
Everyone at Aberdeen FC would like to thank Topi for his contribution to the Club and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.
