“It’s the football life, there is another game around the corner. We have to put the other game behind us and focus on the things we can. What we can control is our performance and the way that we work. We’re focusing on these parts and we look forward to another game in front of a full house at Pittodrie. We want to take some steps in our home performance.”
Picking up at home
“We have been quite good this season away from home but we want to improve our home record and we look forward to the game.
“Some of the game at home have been okay but we have got hurt in the transitions. We need to keep improving this part and keep pushing for the chances. In the last game at home we created a lot of chances, a lot of shots. We won the game but the chances we created as well were really strong.”
The challenge of Dundee Utd
“It’s always a good game against Dundee Utd. The league is tight and the table shows that, every game has a tough opponent on the other side. I still think the last game was tough for us, we wanted to attack the game differently but we didn’t. Now we have another chance to show ourselves and that’s what we’re going to do.”
Busy run of fixtures
“I think it’s so important for the players and us as a management team and everybody around the team to look forward to the challenge because that’s the only way to get better. Sometimes you rotate the squad for strategic or tactical reasons. Sometimes some players have fatigue. We shouldn’t think about that, we should always have an optimistic mindset to be that team and individual player to cope with this schedule, I think that’s important.
“Then you have individuals and you have different reasons. Sometimes they need to recover and have more time, the aim for the players who want to push onto the next level is to play these games.”
Dylan learning from Celtic
“That situation for Dylan is a difficult one (the red card against Celtic) but I don’t think it’s going to disrupt anything of his career over the coming games.
“We’re in the same boat, we’re a team. We help and support each other and look forward to the next game. It’s about how you learn and adapt to circumstances and we always support each other.”
Young players getting their chance
“We have invested in some young potential and the adaptation to the intensity, how to take responsibility, how they show themselves in training. They have to keep doing good things to show that they deserve to be involved. Now we can see some parts of the potential they have. They still have an interesting journey to do and we have to keep pushing and supporting them but they also have to take their journey and keep being consistent.
“Sometimes when you’re breaking through you can drop a little bit and that is fine, that is normal when you’re young and trying to adapt to a higher level. As long as the ambition is there and they’re hungry in the training session and they keep pushing and preparing themselves, they will show that they deserve their chance. As I said before I don’t give players a chance, they deserve their chance. They have to show every day, every week, every training session because it’s a competition inside the squad and you have to be fair to everyone.”
