After the Dons drew a fifth game in the last seven in the league, Neil Warnock was left disappointed by his side’s ability to convert their good play into all three points.
“It’s two points dropped.
“We had 26 attempts on goal and then gave away two Sunday League goals. We need to keep clean sheets. I’m sure they can’t believe the goals they’ve scored from elementary defensive mistakes, the goals were too soft. Players have to take responsibility. The second goal, Nicky’s just got to get the ball out of play, but instead he leaves it and all of a sudden, it’s a goal.
“When you put so much effort in, it’s disappointing not to get the win. But we put so much into the game on Wednesday night and then had to come and do it again today. I don’t know why we couldn’t have played on Tuesday, it doesn’t make sense to me.
“I thought we continued from where we left off in the last hour against Motherwell, the heads don’t go down, so I’ve learnt a bit more about the players. I think it’s the best we’ve played since I’ve been here, there were some good plusses.
“Bojan’s first touch let him down in the first half, normally he’d have scored the one on one, we had a few very good chances second half. I thought we played some good stuff at times and I can’t fault the effort, but we’re not getting the rub of the green.
“I would like to speak to somebody about VAR and how it works. Miovski clearly gets to the header first and, yes, David Marshall then glances the ball, but he’s also poleaxed him. Anywhere else on the pitch, he gets a yellow card for that. It should have been a penalty. Having said that, so far, I’ve got to say the Scottish referees I’ve seen have been far better than in England.”
