“I am as happy as you can be with the way the fixtures have come out. We knew who we were playing so I don’t really think it matters what order the games are or where we play them. We go into every game with confidence and with six games to go we will be looking to pick up as many points as we can. Of course you would have preferred to have had three home and two away but it is what it is, our away form has been very good this season.
“Where or when we play Celtic was not a massive thing. It might have been better playing them in the first game but it is no big deal. We don’t decide on those things so we just have to get on with it. We are not thinking about the Celtic match. All we are doing is focussing on Saturday.
“Dundee United have not been having the best of times recently but they have a lot of quality in their squad. It will be a very tough game.
“We also have a lot of quality in our squad. The results we have had this season speaks volumes about how well the team have done this season and we will be looking to pick up another three points on Saturday. It should be a good game with a good atmosphere. Since I have come here the supporters have been great. They always come out in their numbers, home or away, and they are a 12th man. Their backing makes a difference.
“Second place would be a massive achievement for the club. It shows the consistency we have had all season. It would be nice to secure that as soon as possible.
“Russell Anderson is a big character at the club. He has been for years. Even in the short time I have been here you can see that. Hopefully he can get back playing for the first team before the end of the season and have a part in the run in. He is a great guy and having him back on the training pitch has given everyone a lift.
“It has been demonstrated in the last few weeks how strong a squad we have and that everyone is having to perform well to keep their place in the side. After the couple of draws the manager changed things to get a reaction out of the players and that is what you need. If you are not playing to your maximum you know there is someone else ready to take your place. You need that strength in depth in a squad to be successful.”
