After making an impressive debut against Kilmarnock on Wednesday evening, Dylan Lobban was on hand to add his name to the AberDNA Youth Academy Graduate wall at Cormack Park.

The Westhill born Aberdeen fan has been at the Club since the age of eight and has progressed up through the pre-Academy, the Youth Academy, the SFA Performance School at Hazlehead, captained the U18s and Aberdeen B side before making his first-team debut earlier this week.

“It feels amazing, I didn’t think making my debut would come this quickly after signing my new deal but it’s a great feeling.

“I can’t remember much about the game, it was a bit of a blur! The main thing I remember was the fans chanting my name. That was a really special moment. During the game I was thinking ‘just make one pass’ and then from that pass I felt really comfortable. It was amazing.

“I found out I was starting at about half one on Wednesday afternoon. The team meeting was at four and one of the staff phoned me to say that I was going to be starting. When I got told I was buzzing.

“My family all managed to make it down for the game. They were quite emotional especially my mum! They were all ecstatic for me.

“I was nervous but it was good to have them, it was good nerves. After five minutes into the game I was settled and felt really good.

“Nicky is so vocal and such a good help for a young player like me. Throughout the game he helped me, I helped him during the game by covering him.

“Hearing the fans singing my name at the end of the game was a moment I will never forget. It’s something I will cherish forever. It’s something every young boy from Aberdeen dreams of and I’ve dreamt it. It was amazing.”

The AFC Youth Academy graduate wall at Cormack Park recognises all men’s first-team players who have progressed from the Youth Academy since its inception in 2005.
