Scott Booth | Partick Thistle Reaction
Scott Booth was keen to emphasise that performances must improve following their draw against Partick Thistle at home.
“I’m massively disappointed. I thought we started actually quite bright, first five, ten minutes. I thought we looked like we were going to control the game, and we mopped up a few of their breaks quite easily and thought we had a bit of control.
“But then we just started making one error after another. The game became so transitional. I know the wind, it’s a difficult wind as well because it’s blustery it’s moving everywhere. But we can’t make any excuses for the performances being so off. The standards today just were not high enough.
“It’s been proved when the game is transitional, it doesn’t help us. Everyone knows that. When we manage to keep games from getting transitional, and we’ve kept the ball and we’ve been organised out of possession and then still connected and organised in possession, that’s when we play our best.
“This today was not not a very good spectacle to watch for the fans that came along.
“It’s still early in the season, but we have standards, and they have dropped massively for me today. We played well against Glasgow City, played well against Montrose in large spells, and we get the three points. However, that’s you setting the standards, and as a football player for Aberdeen, you cannot drop the standards like we did today, and we’re lucky to get the point.
“We cannot go into the game next week with the same standards as this today. It was really poor. I am relieved we managed to get a point from it.”
