Jimmy Thelin made no bones about the fact that there is a lot of work still to do to get his side on the right footing when the games resume after the international break.

“Right now our performance over 90 minutes in the games we’ve played so far this season is not stable or good enough to deserve the results. Some parts are okay but then in some moments of the game, it’s not good enough. The pressure is on me to find a way now in this international break with my staff to help the players to take the right decisions and make it more simple for them, so we can start winning games. It’s a new group of players now and we have to work with these players and make them grow. 

“The red card for us today is no excuse, it’s more about how we behave as a team under pressure and that’s where we need to be much, much, much better. I need to find a way to help my players to do that so that’s my responsibility to do that.

“I think we performed okay before the red card but we can do better after the red card and stay more stable and more connected and try to find a way to keep the clean sheet and then find a way to transition or a set play and use these kind of things to win the game. I need to find a way to help the players to find this situation, because it can happen in a game you get one man down and but still you can stay in the game and find an opportunity. 

“It’s early in the season and I have strong belief we can do better and we have to do better. We have zero goals and zero points for three games, it’s not the perfect situation for anyone, but after this break we have another home game and we need to show then the things that I’m saying. I need to use this time really well to support my players and help my players. 

“We’re still working on the transfer window, we know we need to balance the squad in a better way and the club are working really, really hard. We are super clear what we want to do and everybody’s working really hard right now. We have a goal as a club and a group and myself and what we want to do to rebalance the squad and that’s what we’re focusing on right now. We still have some time and tomorrow, it’s going to be quite busy hours. I have strong belief this squad will deliver a good result at the end of the season.”
