Aberdeen FC is delighted to officially announce the successful installation of a new big screen at Pittodrie following a collaboration with MaxAmaze, the club’s Official Stadium Improvement & Fan Experience Partner, and the invaluable support of several local businesses.

The new LED screen marks a significant step in AFC’s ongoing commitment to improve the fan experience at the stadium, enabling the club to provide a more informative, engaging and visually enhanced experience at Pittodrie.

Located above ‘Section Y’ in the South Stand, the impressive new screen boasts a total display area of 80m2.

The introduction of the screen is a direct response to fan feedback and a desire to bring supporters closer to the action with technology allowing the display of real time information, including VAR messaging and score updates, in stadium entertainment and commercial and advertising opportunities for club partners.

However, the screen’s very existence was only made possible thanks to the help, support, knowhow and amazing generosity of MaxAmaze, together with several of our partners and local businesses, who teamed up to deliver the project at a hugely competitive cost.

“We are delighted to see the big screen come to life here at Pittodrie thanks to our partners MaxAmaze and so many local supporters in the north-east business community”, said Robbie Hedderman, Commercial Director at Aberdeen FC.

“This is a hugely positive development for the club that further demonstrates our commitment to invest in Pittodrie whilst we remain here, and most importantly, in the supporters’ experience. We believe this new addition will make a positive difference to the atmosphere and enjoyment at matches.

“The whole project was a huge undertaking given the screen needed to have the ability to withstand the unique conditions of an open-air, mature stadium next to the North Sea.

“Several businesses, many of whom are proud and long-term partners of the club, came together to create a ‘Team Aberdeen’, providing their time, their expertise, and their support to help ensure this important project was successfully executed. We thank them wholeheartedly for all their efforts and generosity; it would not have been possible without each and every one of them.

“The whole thing was and is a brilliant example of collaboration between the club, its partners and the Aberdeen community to enhance our home. We are motivated and have ambitions to do even more of that, which helps our aim of continuous facility improvement whilst prioritising, as much as we can, investment in our footballing talent.”

Co-CEO at MaxAmaze, Klaas de Coster, added: “It’s been a privilege to work alongside Aberdeen FC and the fantastic local businesses who stepped up to make this project a reality. This big screen is more than just technology it’s about creating moments, enhancing the matchday atmosphere, and bringing supporters even closer to the action. We’re proud to play our part in making Pittodrie an even more exciting place to be.”

Fans can look forward to seeing the new screen in action at the match on Sunday as the Dons take on Celtic.

The club would like to extend a sincere thanks to the following companies who supported the installation of the screen; MaxAmaze, M2 Safety Consultants, Fowler McKenzie, LJF Group, MGS Logistics, WM Donald, JKR Contractors Ltd, Techniks, Hutcheon Services, DIW Transport, John Lawrie Metals, KORE, A-Fab, Cameron+Ross Civil and Structural Engineering & Blinding Light.
